Admissions Overview

At Cranford, places are not offered due to academic ability alone. Our school is a place where children with a whole host of interests both inside and beyond the classroom thrive. We aim to provide a well-rounded, opportunity-rich education to children ready and willing to make the most of it and it is this fit that we seek to identify during the admissions process. Prospective pupils are not expected to prepare before our entry assessments and the process is designed to allow everyone the chance to showcase their talents, abilities and enthusiasms.

As we endeavour to host traditional Admissions Events throughout the year these will be subject and adapted to any future COVID-19 government and or Department of Education guidelines.

Registration

We are now accepting Registrations for entry to Year 7 in September 2025. Registration is essential to ensure that your child is included in the admissions process. Registration including a non-returnable fee of £75 is essential to ensure your child is included in the Year 7 Admissions process, however, does not guarantee a final offer of a place.

The Year 7 admissions process begins with registering your child using our Registration Form below:

Assessment & Scholarship Days

Applicants considering entry to Senior School (Year 7 2025) will be invited to school for an Assessment Day on either the 12 or 13 November.

Those applying for a scholarship in the disciplines of Art, Drama, Music or Sport must be available to attend the Assessment Day on 12 November. Those not applying for a scholarship will be invited in on the 13 November. All pupils attending the Year 7 entry process on either the 12 or 13 November are automatically considered for the Laurence Academic Scholarship.

During both Assessment Days, candidates will undertake an online assessment (English, Mathematics and Reasoning), a group discussion activity and have an interview with a member of our Senior Leadership Team. Assessment preparation is not required in advance unless your child is applying for a scholarship.
