Entry for our Senior School is in Year 7. For entry at any other point, parents should contact our Registrar in the first instance.
At Cranford House, places are not offered due to academic ability alone. Our school is a place where children with a whole host of interests both inside and beyond the classroom thrive. We aim to provide a well-rounded, opportunity-rich education to children ready and willing to make the most of it and it is this fit that we seek to identify during the admissions process. Prospective pupils are not expected to prepare before our entry assessments and the process is designed to allow everyone the chance to showcase their talents, abilities and enthusiasms.
Year 7 Admissions Process
The first stage in the admissions process is to return the Registration Form and £75 non-returnable registration fee to our Registrar, Mrs Alison Young. This form is available from the Registrar or can be downloaded here.

You and your child will be invited to attend an interview with the Headmaster or a member of his Senior team; these interviews are scheduled in the Autumn Term, during the working week. This is an opportunity for the school to find out about your child's aspirations for Senior School and for you to explore whether Cranford House provides a good fit.
Pupils who wish to be considered for a scholarship will also have an additional individual interview at this time to discuss their specialist area.
For September entry, entrance assessments take place in the preceding January. Pupils sit assessments in English and Mathematics and take a Developed Ability test.
Cranford House contacts Primary School or Prep School Heads for references during the Autumn Term of Year 6.
Offer of a Place
Assessment results are reported to the Headmaster who makes a final decision to offer a place. Pupils receive a formal written offer together with copies of terms and conditions, medical form and an acceptance form. These must be returned with a deposit of £750 to secure your daughter's place.
