Entry Requirements

Cranford House is academically non-selective.

Pupils wishing to enter the Lower and Junior Schools are required to attend a taster day and to provide copies of recent school reports. During their Taster Day pupils will be asked to complete some tasks in Numeracy and Literacy which will help our teachers to ascertain their current level in these crucial areas.

Offers will be made to pupils within one week of their Taster Day. Pupils wishing to enter Year 7 will be asked to attend a Taster Day during the September prior to their year of entry (in their Year 6). They will be asked to provide reports from their current school and we will ask for references from their current Headteacher. Pupils will take part in an Assessment Day in the January prior to their entry when we will create a learning profile for each child including an extensive academic assessment. Results of the academic assessment will be used to arrange the Form groups and the best performers will be invited back to try for our Academic Scholarship.
