It was a fine start to the week thanks to Tuesday’s fabulous Year 6 Tea Concert, as well as the warm weather.

I was really impressed by the range of talent and musicality of our performers and I’m sure all those parents who attended were too. Well done to everyone who took part. Music sits at the heart of our school life and it is wonderful to be able to share with parents the enthusiasm for Music and the Performing Arts that we see every day.

Parental support has been much in evidence all week with a host of parent events, coffee mornings, sports matches and PTA meetings taking place. I would like to take the opportunity to thank parents for all the support they provide us with, both through the PTA and through their daily contribution to our strong school community.

It’s also been a week of sporting success with teams from Year 5 to Year 10 competing in Rounders, Cricket and Tennis and enjoying victories over opponents including Queen Anne’s, St Edward’s and Rupert House. Congratulations to everyone who has represented the school in fixtures this week.

Lower down the school, our Reception class made the most of the sunshine as they enjoyed a glorious day of adventure and exploration with the Earth Trust at Wittenham Clumps. To see all the photos from this fantastic trip and from the week in school, please click here.

Finally, a fun-filled day that started with Year 11’s Muck Up Day surprises is drawing to a close.

As I write we are about to join together as a Senior School for our Annual Leavers’ Service where we celebrate our eldest year group’s time in school. I am sure you will all join me in wishing them every success as they go on their GCSE study leave. We look forward to supporting them as they progress through the examination season.

With best wishes

Dr James Raymond
