18 02 23 Yr 5 Hampton Court Sm

It has been a busy few days in school and we are delighted with the good progress being made on our Junior School extension.

Many thanks to all of you who joined us for our coffee mornings focusing on the extension and for your collective support during this exciting period of development for the school.

Half Term also saw 30 intrepid pupils head to the Austrian alps for an exciting week of skiing. Set against the back-drop of the Winter Olympics, the trip found its leader, Mrs Sear, on the look for Cranford House's next Olympian and she tells us she was very impressed by pupils’ attitudes and achievements over the week. For her account of the week in Zell am See and for all the photos from the trip, please click here.

Closer to home, this week has seen some exciting History trips across the school, with Year 5 enjoying a visit to Hampton Court today whilst our Year 10 and 11 historians are currently learning about Medicine and Health through the ages at a History conference.

In addition, last night our Year 9 Youth Speaks team visited Highdown School in Reading for the second round of the competition. Although they were pipped to the post at this stage in the competition, Mrs Ellis tells me they acquitted themselves admirably, presenting their speech with clarity and composure. Very well done, girls.

Finally, I'm sure parents will join me in welcoming Mrs Sara Dickason who joins us as Junior School Receptionist. She will be based in the Junior School Reception (open from 8-9:30am and 3:00-4:30pm) and is on hand to help parents with any aspect of life in the Junior School.

With best wishes for the weekend.
