It was fantastic to see our Year 5 and 6 pupils setting off on their residential trip to Preston Montford and to welcome them back to school yesterday afternoon.

Their four days of outward-bound activities, STEM experiments, team games and crafts left most of them thoroughly tired out but elated. Memories of trips like these remain with us throughout our lives and I hope that the camaraderie, excitement and adventure that our pupils displayed throughout the trip will stay with them for many years to come. I’m also proud to report that the Preston Montford staff were incredibly complimentary about our pupils’ conduct and character. We hear comments like these so often that it would be easy to become complacent; however, it is a real source of pride for me personally and for us as a school that our pupils represent us so superbly wherever they go.

Next week promises more highlights as we look forward to a fun-filled visit from Happy’s Circus on Thursday – many thanks to the PTA for organising the event – and to our Whole School Open Morning on Saturday 7 October. My staff and I always genuinely look forward to the chance to show so many new families just what makes Cranford House such an excellent school. Whilst we are particularly excited about showcasing our newly-improved facilities, as ever, the very best advertisements for Cranford House are our enthusiastic, engaged and friendly pupils. My thanks to you in advance for your support in helping us to make Open Morning a resounding success.

With best wishes,

Dr J Raymond
