This week has seen a whirlwind of exciting activities for pupils right across the school.

While Year 6 headed off for an action-packed residential trip in Shropshire, our Senior XI First team enjoyed a day of hockey at the County Tournament and other teams made the most of a packed programme of fixtures. Very well done to our Senior XI Seconds who were victorious over Maiden Erlegh School and Year 7A who beat the Dragon School.

We also enjoyed a school-wide celebration of all things literary as pupils from Junior and Senior School enjoyed some genuinely inspiring author talks and writing workshops with renowned authors at the Henley Literary Festival. This was followed by a celebration of rhyme and verse as the English Department marked both National Dyslexia Week and National Poetry Day during our annual Poetry Slam. The Library was packed as Senior pupils listened to and recited a host of poems on the theme of Change, with an impressive number choosing to read out their own writing.

Not to be outdone, the Music Department hosted a superb Singing Masterclass, led by celebrated singer, Christine Cairns, from the Birmingham Conservatoire of Music. My thanks to all the parents who joined us to enjoy the resulting concert which really showcased the fantastic vocal talent here in school. Congratulations to everyone who took part.

The week also saw families joining us for our Year 7 Welcome Evening in which we were pleased to be able to congratulate the pupils on the very positive start they have made to Senior School life. I look forward to watching them continue to flourish throughout their time with us.

Finally, tomorrow brings our annual Open Morning, an important day on the school calendar. We look forward to welcoming all of you who will be joining us to explore Cranford House further. Our friendly, enthusiastic pupils are the very best advertisement for our school and I would like to thank you in advance for your help in making Open Morning a resounding success.
