This week has brought one of the most enjoyable decisions of the school year, but also one of the most difficult: selecting our Head Girl team to lead the school for the next three terms.

I’m proud to say that this year’s field of candidates was both one of the largest we have ever had to choose from, as well as one of the most accomplished. Choosing from this field of 12 talented, high-achieving and confident young women, all with much to offer the role, was an incredibly challenging process and all of our candidates deserve to be extremely proud of themselves. I am delighted to announce that Josie of Year 10 has been chosen to be our next Head Girl, along with Lucy and Tessa as her Deputies. I am sure they will all do a sterling job in their roles when they take over from our current team at Easter.

Elsewhere in school, this week has brought a flurry of activity on our Netball courts as boys and girls from Years 3 to 11 have battled it out in our Inter-House competitions. There were some excellent displays of both talent and determination and each of our four houses won at least one year group tournament. Well done, all!

Work also started on our new Junior School extension, paving the way for some really exciting developments. Thank you to all of you who joined us at this week’s coffee morning to discuss the extension – it was lovely to hear so many positive comments about the benefits that the new facilities will afford our pupils. I look forward to keeping you updated as work progresses.

Finally, my thanks to everyone who joined Mrs Knight and our staff for last night’s EYFS Phonics session. As our earliest years are our most formative, the importance of a first-class introduction to learning is indisputable. We are proud to be offering just such an outstanding start to our pupils here at Cranford House.

I hope you enjoy looking at some of our photos from the week in school.

With best wishes for a restful Half Term.
