In sharp contrast to last year’s weather, this Spring half term treated us to some very welcome blue skies and warm temperatures which remained long enough to welcome us all back to school.

I’ve really enjoyed seeing pupils from both Junior and Senior School heading outside at break and lunchtimes to enjoy our school grounds in the sunshine!

I hope you and your families enjoyed a restorative half term break. Here at school, things remained busy and it was exciting to see great progress being made on our new Sixth Form centre. We are looking forward to allowing pupils to start visiting the site to get a sense of their new facilities in the near future.

Elsewhere in school, it has been a busy week as we held another of our annual Year 5 Maths Challenges, welcoming pupils from 24 schools for a challenging and very enjoyable afternoon of Mathematics!

Meanwhile, in Senior School, a highlight of the week came as our Year 10 pupils delivered their House Captain speeches in assembly with confidence and a great sense of humour! Their year group continue to impress us with their maturity and composure as they undertake the process of applying for positions of responsibility. Further cause for celebration came courtesy of all those pupils involved in this week’s IAPS Swimming Gala, with each of them putting in a performance to be very proud of.

Finally, I'm sure you will join me in welcoming Mr Stainthorp, who has joined the school as a teacher of Science. Mr Stainthorp joins us with a wealth of experience in teaching Science and is a strong addition to the team.

With best wishes

Dr J Raymond
