Red Nose Day

The sporting calendar has been packed full of fantastic opportunities for pupils this week, starting with our action-packed Year 3 Inter-House Netball tournament.

As well as the usual busy schedule of fixtures, our U15 Cricket team represented the school at the County finals in Oxford and Senior pupils joined a fantastic training session for Team GB Hockey players at Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre. What’s more, Camilla Buchanan, former player and current coach of the Hertfordshire Mavericks Superleague team, treated Year 8 and 9 pupils to a series of fun but challenging Netball Masterclasses. My thanks to our PE Department for arranging these inspiring events and for continuing to ensure that Sport at Cranford House goes from strength to strength.

Opportunities for exercise continued this morning as the whole school started the day with a mass danceathon as part of Comic Relief’s Dancing in the Street event. Amidst a sea of red, some impressive dancing skills were on display across both Juniors and Seniors! It was wonderful to see pupils of all ages dancing together with enthusiasm and having a good time in aid of a great cause – my thanks to all of you who sent in donations.

Finally, we are pleased to be able to announce plans for major improvements to the Senior School that will take place over the summer break. These include a re-design of the Library, the creation of new classrooms and the addition of a new corridor to improve flow around the building. We are very excited about significantly upgrading the Senior School facilities, following our investment in Junior School last summer. I look forward to sharing further details of these positive improvements later in the year.
