It has been an exciting week across both the Junior and Senior School with play rehearsals, Hockey and Football fixtures and Grandparents’ Day all taking place.

The latter is always eagerly anticipated by our Nursery and Junior pupils and it was fantastic to see the strong support it received this year, with grandparents, family and friends all joining us to see the school in action. They were treated to some lovely musical performances and it was wonderful to hear Junior Chamber Choir singing at the end of the afternoon. As a school, we place the greatest emphasis on our strong family ethos and events such as this are an important part of life at Cranford House.

Monday night saw us welcoming Year 9 pupils and parents back into school for our GCSE Options evening. I always enjoy seeing our pupils explore the broad range of GCSE options available to them as they look ahead to Year 10. This opportunity to dictate part of their pathway is an important watershed in their school careers. We look forward to continuing discussions about next steps as they look ahead to GCSE, A-Level and beyond at Parents’ Evening in a couple of weeks’ time.

Elsewhere in school, excitement is building as next week’s performances of our Senior School production, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, approach. Tickets can be purchased here: www.ticketsource.co.uk/event/278998. Please do apply early if you want to be sure of getting a place!

Finally, it just remains for me to wish our Judo team the best of luck in this weekend’s championship and to say a big thank you to the PTA who are working very hard to ensure the Christmas Fair is a huge success. I hope to see you there on Saturday 24 November.
