A half-term that has passed with breath-taking speed has brought us plenty to celebrate, as well as lots to look forward to.

Our Year 11s are already roughly halfway through their GCSE schedule and their composure under pressure has really impressed us all. We wish them a productive and restful half-term week, along with the rest of Senior School who can now relax and enjoy the break having completed their Summer Examinations.

A brilliantly sunny week proved the perfect backdrop to some wonderful events lower down the school, not least of which was yesterday’s fabulous Reception Tea Party. Guests were treated to a lovely musical performance, along with delicious savoury and sweet treats, handwritten menus and some beautiful decorations which had all been created by the children. Very well done to all the boys and girls on producing such a fantastic afternoon’s entertainment.

Another memorable performance came courtesy of our Year 3 Tea Concert which saw our pupils showcasing their musical talents to a very appreciative audience of family and staff. Playing an amazing array of instruments that included everything from the harp to the guitar and drums, Year 3 did a splendid job of impressing with both their musical prowess and their enthusiasm for performing. My thanks to everyone who was able to join us in cheering them on.

Finally, our youngest pupils visited our Science labs yesterday for a chance to conduct some exciting experiments as part of Nursery’s Science Week. Helped by our specialist teachers and a willing crew of Year 8 scientists, they investigated magnets, explored gloop and made giant bubbles, whilst providing a great example of our belief that learning and fun go hand in hand.

With best wishes
