Dear Parents

Rock & Pop Concert

One of the highlights of this week was without doubt, the Senior Rock & Pop Concert on Tuesday Evening. The Willow Theatre was transformed into an exclusive venue, ready for Cranford’s very own rock and pop legends to emerge on stage!

This ever-popular event did not disappoint with fantastic performances from all participants, supported by an incredibly appreciative and energetic audience. It was also the first opportunity for the newly formed Cranford Rock Band to perform a selection of songs ranging from Deep Purple to Oasis and they were greeted with rapturous applause. The evening was filled with wonderful solo and duet and ensemble performances from pupils across the school. The talent on display was extremely impressive and it was also a delight to see the confidence of our pupils’ soar, with the support and camaraderie amongst all the performers. A big thank you to our incredibly talented pupils for providing a such fantastic evening of musical entertainment. Please click here to see some pictures of the night.

Year 3 and the Roman Empire!

Year 3 have thrown themselves into their ‘Roman’ topic, transforming themselves into a fearsome, Roman army prepared to defend the Cranford Empire! Exploring the lasting legacy of the Romans, they have really enjoyed learning about life as a Roman soldier. They also spectacularly transformed your wonderful donations of cardboard boxes into some seriously impressive Roman shields.

Stay & Play Toddler Activity Group

On Monday, we welcomed families to our first Toddler Stay and Play Activity Group. This is a relaxed and informal session, open to all families with children of pre-school age and will be running weekly from 9:30-10:30am. If you know anyone that might wish to attend, please ask them to register via the website!

Year 13 and Year 11 Parents’ Evening

On Thursday evening, pupils in Years 11 and 13 and their parents met with subject teachers to discuss the outcomes of the recent mock GCSE and A Level examinations. All subject teachers were really impressed by the hard work pupils put into their revision and preparation and the maturity with which they approached the examinations. After feedback from teachers, it was a delight to see pupils leaving with big smiles, (some useful revision packs!), and a strong sense of positivity and purpose for the final few months of study before their GCSEs and A Levels.

Have a good weekend!

With best wishes,

Dr James Raymond
