Netball Skills 16

Our Junior pupils ended the week in spectacular fashion! It is clear from all the lovely emails from parents that our STEAM event has been a great success. I have really enjoyed hearing about the activities pupils have completed at home and also enjoyed seeing pictures of experiments in action, models of planets and the solar system and some truly incredible pieces of work. Please do take a moment to have a look at what our talented pupils have achieved over the last few days in this album.

Earlier this afternoon, Junior pupils were treated to a talk from an extra special guest who is an Astro-Physicist. Paula Gherghinescu, a Physics graduate from Oxford University, talked about how she had always dreamed of a career in Astro-Physics and how she is now realising this and completing a PhD researching the Andromeda galaxy 'halo'. She is a Galactic Archaeologist studying fossils, plants and solar systems, dark galaxies and black holes. With a career like that, as I’m sure you can imagine, she was really inspirational and possibly has one of the most exciting jobs ever (next to being a History Teacher of course!).

Biomedical Seminars

We are delighted to be able to announce a series of talks from medical professionals for pupils in Years 10-12 taking place over the next half-term. With seriously impressive credentials, the hosts of these sessions are keen to inspire our pupils but also to help inform and shape pupils’ decisions relating to future paths of study. We look forward to sharing more information with you in due course.

Cranford’s Got Talent

Miss Culver is calling for final entries from Junior Pupils for ‘Cranford’s Got Talent’ There have been some incredible performances submitted already, depicting a vast array of talents across all areas of the performing arts. Final videos need to be submitted by Monday! We can’t wait to showcase the entries.

Rock and Pop Concert

Meanwhile, Monday is also the last date for entries for our Senior Rock and Pop Concert. Mrs Powell is keen to hear from any singers or instrumentalists who haven’t yet submitted a video. We know there is an amazing variety of talent amongst our senior pupils and look forward to a long-awaited return of the staff band!
