We have had a spectacularly busy week across all areas of school and enjoyed opening our doors to many visitors for our final Open Week of the year. They were treated to a snapshot in time of Cranford, sneaking a peak behind the scenes of all the amazing teaching that goes on every day. Unsurprisingly, we were in receipt of some wonderful comments from our visiting families about the school facilities, the standard of teaching and the range of sport and extra-curricular activities on offer. However, some of the most lovely comments were about the pupils, their exceptional behaviour and manners, the eloquence with which they explained to visitors about what they were learning but also, how they all seemed so content. One family said that the school radiated happiness and that it was especially lovely to hear laughter and enjoyment in learning as they walked through the corridors.

Laughter was definitely in abundance as the Year 5 and 6 pupils rehearsed together for the first time for their show yesterday, which they are performing towards the end of the Summer Term. Drama and performances generally feature heavily on the calendar this term as we are also getting ready for the Year 7 and 8 production of ‘The Lion King’. We are delighted to be able to share these spectacular performances with parents and look forward to seeing you there.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, parents of Year 6 pupils enjoyed the first in a series of Key Stage 2 Tea Concerts, featuring some wonderful musical interludes across an impressively broad range of genres. We had form group tuned percussion renditions of the theme from Pirates of the Caribbean and a whole year group performance of ABBA's 'I have a Dream', followed by lots of super solos! Wishing you a lovely weekend!
