It’s been a hugely positive week in school with a host of trips, extra-curricular activities and huge numbers of visitors joining us for Open Week

Sporting fixtures have seen teams from Year 4 right up to our Senior 1sts scoring impressive victories, reflecting the continued progression in our already excellent PE provision. Congratulations also go to our Year 3 netballers who contested their first ever match this week and we wish good luck to our Junior and Senior Cross Country runners who headed off this morning for an ISA meet in Hampshire.

Meanwhile, our Year 10 and 11 GCSE Drama pupils travelled to the West End to watch & Juliet, a radically reworked version of Shakespeare’s most famous love story. More fabulous performances were to be found closer to home thanks to our Year 7 and 8 Tea Concert which provided a lovely showcase for some of the incredible musical talent here in school. And our pupils also shone on stage as they presented two fantastic assemblies, with Year 1 sharing their learning of the days of the week and the seasons and Year 10 offering some sage advice on Internet safety. Finally, our annual Inter-House Harry Potter quiz saw the Senior Library packed with Potterites pitting their wits against some very tricky questions – well done to St Francis who triumphed!

With best wishes for a restful weekend,

Dr James Raymond
