Cranford House has decided to support NHS frontline workers through the Oxford Hospitals Charity by baking cupcakes through Lockdown.

Cranford House has always endeavoured to give back in any way it can and, following on from the success of their summer charitable campaign with Thomas Franks, decided to once again support NHS frontline workers. This time, the small South-Oxfordshire school will be channelling their donations towards the Oxford Hospitals Charity whose work will help support many of the hospitals that are local to the school, including the John Radcliffe, Horton, Churchill, NOC and Oxford Children’s Hospital.

NHS workers provide invaluable work and, as a school, Cranford House are keen to support them during this challenging time in any way they can. Community is such an important part of Cranford House culture and now, more than ever, it’s important to come together to help those who need it most. In fact, it’s through this community that the idea took hold: inspired by the brilliant work of one of their Reception pupils: Alice.

Over the weekend, Alice set to work baking trays of cupcakes and selling them to raise money for the NHS. Amazed and touched by Alice’s actions, Cranford House decided her idea should be supported and carried out by the whole school. They are therefore challenging their pupils to bake and sell cupcakes to their families in aid of NHS staff, with redeemable vouchers for family members that fall outside their immediate household bubble. A link to the recipe is included below for all that wish to join the school in baking to help NHS workers.

Thank you in advance to all pupils, parents and their families for getting involved and supporting the NHS. It’s a great lockdown activity and a very worthy cause.

So join the Cranford House community, get involved and bake to make a difference!
